The Assistant Director of Patient Care operates as nurse (RN) leader for an assigned unit in the acute care setting. They are responsible for providing leadership and direction to support the daily clinical operations of the unit and delivery of high quality, patient centered care.
As an Assistant Director of Patient Care, a typical day might include:
● Overseeing and supporting day to day operations of clinical staff on the unit
● Managing appropriate staffing levels and organizing coverage accordingly
● Planning and executing programs to improve unit efficiency and service delivery
● Working cooperatively with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
● Ensuring compliance with patient care quality and regulatory standards
● Supporting departmental, hospital and system initiatives including ongoing clinical education, quality improvement plans, and staff engagement activities

To be considered for this opportunity,
- You must have an active RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Qualified individuals will also possess at a minimum a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- At least 3 years of clinical practice experience in the unit or specialty of interest.
- A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree and prior nursing management experience is strongly preferred.
- Additional certifications may be required depending on the nursing specialty.
